About the Lenses range

Start with the focal length and maximum aperture. Wide-angle lenses suit landscapes, interiors and vlogging, while telephoto lenses help frame distant subjects, wildlife and sport. Standard zooms cover everyday photography with fewer lens changes. A wider maximum aperture, such as f/1.4 or f/2.8, allows more light and can create shallower depth of field. Compare autofocus, optical or in-body stabilisation, minimum focus distance, size, weight and weather resistance for your camera and shooting conditions.

Check the exact lens mount before ordering. Sony E lenses are made for Sony mirrorless cameras, but confirm whether the lens covers a full-frame or APS-C sensor. APS-C lenses may not provide full coverage on full-frame bodies, while full-frame lenses can generally be used on APS-C bodies with a narrower field of view. Leica M lenses use a different rangefinder mount. Adapters can affect autofocus, aperture control and stabilisation, so check the product specifications and your camera manual.

Lenses questions

How do I know which lens mount I need?

Match the mount listed on the lens with the mount on your camera body. Sony E and Sony FE products are designed for Sony E-mount cameras, but sensor coverage still matters. Leica M lenses require a Leica M mount or a suitable adapter for another camera system.

What is the difference between a full-frame and APS-C lens?

A full-frame lens covers a full-frame sensor and can usually also be used on an APS-C body. An APS-C lens is designed for the smaller sensor and may produce dark corners on a full-frame camera. Check the lens and camera specifications before buying.

Is a 24-70mm lens suitable for general photography?

A 24-70mm zoom is a flexible option for travel, events, portraits and everyday subjects on a full-frame camera. The wider end suits groups and environmental views, while the longer end helps with portraits. On APS-C cameras, the field of view is narrower.
