About the Streaming & Podcasting range

A podcast setup is a microphone, something to record it, and a way to monitor. For one or two people, a USB microphone and a laptop is enough; for a panel, a RODECaster Duo or Pro II with dynamic microphones handles mixing, recording and phone guests in one unit. Streaming adds a camera source through a capture card, a key light and a control surface for scenes.

Each kit page lists exactly what is in the box, and every item ships free within Australia. If you already own part of a setup, the Music and Audio and Lighting departments carry each component on its own.

Streaming & Podcasting questions

What do I need to start a podcast?

One microphone per speaker, a way to record (a USB microphone into a computer, or XLR microphones into an interface or RODECaster), headphones for monitoring, and a quiet room. A boom arm and pop filter improve consistency.

RODECaster Duo or Pro II?

The Duo has two microphone inputs and suits solo or two-person shows. The Pro II has four inputs and more physical controls for panel shows and live production. Both record to microSD and connect to a computer.

Can I stream from a mirrorless camera?

Yes, with a capture card between the camera's HDMI output and the computer, or a camera that supports USB webcam mode. Capture cards are in this department and in Computers.

Is a key light better than a ring light?

A key light through a softbox or panel gives softer, more flattering light and does not leave a ring reflection in glasses. Ring lights are compact and simple. Both are listed with their output and colour range.
