About the Cases & Bags range

Hard cases are grouped by size and by interior: pick-and-pluck foam, padded dividers, TrekPak or empty. Popular sizes such as the Pelican 1510 and 1535 Air come in several interior versions, each with its own page and price, and the case pages link those versions together. Internal dimensions are the figure to check against your gear.

Soft bags are organised by how they carry: backpacks for travel and hiking, shoulder and sling bags for quick access, and dedicated audio bags for recorders and mixers. Manfrotto, Lowepro, Think Tank and Tenba cover most sizes, with dimensions and laptop capacity on each page.

Cases & Bags questions

Which Pelican case fits as airline carry-on?

The Pelican 1510 and 1535 Air are sized to common Australian carry-on limits, though airlines set their own rules and the Air models are lighter. Larger cases such as the 1615 Air are checked luggage. Each case page lists external and internal dimensions and weight.

Foam, dividers or TrekPak: which interior should I choose?

Pick-and-pluck foam gives the most protection for a fixed kit. Padded dividers suit gear that changes from job to job. TrekPak is a rigid divider system that combines the protection of foam with the flexibility of dividers, at a higher price.

Are Pelican and Nanuk cases waterproof?

Both are sealed with an O-ring and rated to IP67, which means dust-tight and protected against temporary immersion. They are not dive cases. An automatic pressure valve equalises the case after flights.

Do large cases ship free too?

Yes. Shipping is free to any Australian street address regardless of size. Large cases cannot go to PO Boxes or parcel lockers.
