Description
The Rode VideoMic NTG is a camera-mount shotgun microphone for filming, vlogging, voiceover work and podcasting. It suits users who want a focused mono mic that can move between a camera, mobile device or computer, with onboard controls for quick adjustments during recording.
It uses a supercardioid electret condenser capsule with a pressure gradient design and side-address orientation. Key features include variable gain, a -20 dB pad, 75 Hz and 150 Hz high-pass filter settings, and high-frequency boost. The mic has a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range, 120 dB SPL maximum input, 10 ohm impedance and a USB-rechargeable battery rated for 30 hours.
In practice, it can be mounted on a camera or used on a boom. It connects by 3.5 mm or USB-C and is compatible with cameras, mobile devices and computers. The box includes the VideoMic NTG microphone, SM7-R shoe shockmount, foam windscreen, SC10 3.5 mm TRRS cable and USB Type-A to USB Type-C cable.
