Description
The RODE VideoMic Pro+ is an on-camera shotgun microphone for recording clearer speech and focused sound with a camera. It suits videographers, content creators and anyone who wants a compact mic for interviews, run-and-gun filming or general camera audio capture. Its supercardioid pickup helps narrow in on the subject while reducing sound from the sides.
It uses a line gradient acoustic principle and covers 20 Hz to approximately 20 kHz. The selectable high-pass filter has 75 Hz and 150 Hz settings, and the output is dual mono unbalanced on a stereo 3.5 mm jack. It has a sensitivity of -33.6 dB re 1 V/Pa, 200 ohms output impedance, 14.2 dBA equivalent noise, 118.8 dB dynamic range and 133 dB maximum SPL. The LB-1 battery runs for over 100 hours.
In use, the mic mounts on a camera and connects by 3.5 mm output to compatible camera audio inputs. It can also be powered by the included lithium-ion battery and recharged through micro-USB. The microphone weighs 122 g and measures 170.0 x 111.0 x 66.0 mm.
