Description
The Tascam US-16x08 is a USB audio and MIDI interface for recording setups that need multiple mic and line inputs in one unit. It suits home studios, rehearsal rooms and small live recording rigs where a computer needs several inputs and outputs, along with MIDI connection for external gear.
It provides 8 XLR mic inputs and 8 TRS line inputs, with 8 balanced line outputs for monitoring or routing audio. It supports 24-bit audio at 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96 kHz, and includes Ultra-HDDA microphone preamps, a DSP monitor mixer with AEQ and compression, and 5-pin DIN MIDI I/O. The unit runs from a dedicated AC adapter and uses USB 2.0 connectivity.
In use, it connects to a computer for multitrack recording and monitoring, and can also work with iOS devices that support iOS 7. It is sized for rack mounting and comes with a rack mount adapter, USB cable and AC adapter. The interface measures 445 x 59 x 219 mm and weighs 2.8 kg.
