Description

The Shure BETA58A is a dynamic vocal microphone for singers and presenters who want a handheld mic for close-up use. Its supercardioid pickup helps focus on the voice and reduce unwanted side sound, making it suitable for live vocals and other spoken or sung applications. The metal body and steel grille are built for regular stage use.

It uses a dynamic moving coil element with a frequency response of 50 to 16,000 Hz and a supercardioid polar pattern. Output impedance is EIA rated at 150 Ω, with 290 Ω actual, and sensitivity is -51.5 dBV/Pa at 1 kHz. The microphone weighs 0.278 kg and uses a three-pin XLR male balanced connector. The enclosure is silver blue enamel-painted die cast metal with a hardened, matte-finished steel mesh grille.

In practice, it pairs with standard XLR microphone inputs on mixers, audio interfaces and stage equipment. It is designed for close-up vocals, where its pneumatic shock mount and hardened grille help with handling noise and everyday use. The box includes an A25D adjustable stand adapter, a 95A2050 5/8-3/8 thread adapter and a 26A21 storage bag.
