Description
The RODE Wireless Micro Ultra-Compact Wireless Microphone is a two-person wireless system for recording speech and other close-up audio to an iPhone or iPad with a Lightning connection. It suits creators who want a small, clip-on setup for interviews, vlogs, social clips and mobile recording. The transmitter microphones are built in, so there is no separate lavalier cable to manage.
It uses omnidirectional pickup and records across a 20 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range, with a maximum SPL of 135 dB SPL, 21 dBA equivalent noise and a 73 dB signal-to-noise ratio. Wireless range is over 100 m. The battery is rated for 6 hours, with the charging case providing 2 extra charges for up to 18 hours total operation. The system connects via Lightning and charges by USB-C.
In use, the receiver plugs into compatible iOS devices running iOS 14 or later, and the two transmitters attach with the supplied magnetic clips. The kit includes 1 receiver, 2 transmitters, 1 charge case, 2 furry windshields, 1 SC22 USB-C to USB-C cable and 2 magnetic attachments. The charge case weighs 61 g, and the full kit weighs 102 g.
