Description
The RODE VideoMicro II is an ultra-compact on-camera shotgun microphone for recording clearer audio on cameras or mobile devices. It suits creators who want a small, simple mic for interviews, vlogs, run-and-gun video, or everyday camera audio without adding much bulk. The directional supercardioid pickup helps focus on the sound in front of the mic.
It measures 80 x 22mm and weighs 24g, or 39g with the isolation mount attached. The electret condenser design uses a pressure gradient acoustic principle, with a frequency response of 20Hz to 20kHz, 79 dB signal-to-noise ratio, 95 dB dynamic range, and 110 dB SPL maximum input. Output is via 3.5mm TRS, with sensitivity rated at -30dBV and output impedance of about 2.6kΩ.
In use, it mounts on a camera or works with a mobile device through the included cables. The box includes the VideoMicro II microphone, HELIX isolation mount, foam windshield, furry windshield, SC7 TRS to TRRS patch cable, and SC13 TRS to TRS patch cable. Compatible accessories include SC3, SC4, SC8, SC11, DCS-1, Tripod 2, VXLR Pro, VXLR+, and Mini Boompole.
