Description

The RODE VideoMic with Rycote Lyre Suspension System is a camera-mounted shotgun microphone for video recording, interviews and run-and-gun capture. It suits users who want a directional mic that mounts on a standard camera shoe and takes a 3.5 mm feed into a camera or recorder. The supercardioid pattern helps focus on sound in front of the mic.

It uses a condenser capsule with a 12.70 mm diaphragm and line gradient operating principle. Key figures include a 40 Hz to 20 kHz frequency range, 20 dB A-weighted equivalent noise, 134 dB SPL maximum input, 200 ohms impedance, -38 dB sensitivity at 1 kHz and a low-cut filter at 80 Hz. It also includes -10 dB and -20 dB pad settings.

In use, it sits on a camera shoe and connects through a 3.5 mm TRS output, so it suits cameras and recorders with a matching input. It runs from one 9 V battery. The box includes the VideoMic, the Rycote Suspension System and a windscreen.
