About the Pedals range

Start with the instrument and result you want, such as distortion, compression, modulation, delay, reverb, amp modelling, bass preamp or multi-effects. Compare the number of effects, presets, footswitch controls, display, onboard expression control and connections. Check whether the pedal includes cab or amp modelling if you plan to connect directly to headphones, a mixer or an audio interface. True bypass can matter in a simple signal chain, while digital pedals may use buffered or DSP bypass. Confirm power requirements, current draw and whether an adaptor is included.

Check the input and output format before ordering. A guitar or bass pedal may use standard 6.35 mm connections, while a multi-effects unit can also offer USB, headphones, MIDI or dedicated expression inputs. An expression pedal only works when the host pedal supports the correct connection and control function. Match voltage, polarity and minimum current, and do not assume every pedal uses the same supply. The range includes bass, acoustic instrument, modelling, multi-effects, expression and ABY switching options, so compare the intended instrument and signal path first.

Pedals questions

Do guitar pedals work with bass?

Some guitar pedals work with bass, but their input range, EQ response and low-frequency handling differ. Check the product description for bass compatibility before buying. Bass-focused options such as Darkglass Electronics and Zoom models are designed around bass signals and commonly include controls or effects suited to that instrument.

Can I use a multi-effects pedal without an amplifier?

Only if the pedal provides the outputs you need and includes suitable amp or cab modelling, or if you connect it to another full-range monitoring system. Check for headphones, USB, line or mixer connections. A pedal designed for use before an amplifier may not provide a complete direct recording solution.

What power supply does a pedal need?

Match the pedal's required voltage, polarity and current rating to the adaptor or pedalboard supply. Many pedals use 9 V centre-negative DC, but this is not universal. The supply must provide at least the pedal's stated current draw. Check the product page and manual before connecting power.
