Description
The Zoom H1essential is a handheld portable audio recorder for audio-for-video, dictation, transcription, music recording and podcasting. It suits users who want a compact recorder with built-in microphones and straightforward controls for capturing speech or music on the go.
It records 2 tracks with 2 input channels and uses a built-in cardioid condenser stereo pair in an X/Y configuration. Recording is up to 96 kHz at 32-bit float, with WAV, BWF and iXML support, plus 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz options. It includes overdubbing, playback speed change, a mono mode for interviews, a built-in 1 W mono speaker and a 0.96-inch monochrome OLED display.
In use, it can be paired with a microSDXC card up to 1 TB for recording, and it does not include internal storage. The recorder is aimed at portable capture rather than complex rigging, with no timecode support. The box includes the Zoom H1essential 2-Track 32-Bit Float Portable Audio Recorder.
