Description
The Sennheiser MKE 600 is a shotgun microphone for camcorders and video DSLRs. It suits users who need a compact, highly directive mic for focused speech pickup on camera. Its super-cardioid, lobar pickup pattern helps capture sound from the front while reducing unwanted noise from the sides and rear.
It covers a frequency response of 40 Hz to 20 kHz and can run from 48 V phantom power or a single AA size battery or rechargeable battery. Sensitivity is -21 mV/Pa with 48 V powering and -19 mV/Pa with battery powering. Maximum sound pressure level is 132 dB with phantom power and 126 dB on battery, with a low frequency roll-off switch included. The mic measures 20 mm in diameter, 256 mm long, and weighs 128 g without battery.
In practice, it is suited to camera mounting or boom use with compatible recording gear that accepts XLR input or the included KA 600 cable for 3.5 mm connection. The box includes the microphone, a shock mount for camera light-shoe use, a foam windshield and a carry pouch.
