Description
The Sennheiser E945 is a dynamic vocal microphone for live lead vocals and other close-miked speech or singing applications. Its super-cardioid pickup pattern suits performers who want focused vocal capture with less spill from the sides and rear. The rugged metal body and internal shockmount make it suitable for regular stage use.
It covers a frequency response of 40 to 18,000 Hz and uses a dynamic transducer with 2.0 mV/Pa sensitivity at 1 kHz. The nominal impedance is 350 ohms, with a minimum terminating impedance of 1 kΩ. It uses an XLR-3 connector, and the hum-compensating coil helps reduce unwanted electrical noise.
In practice, the E945 is used with XLR-3 microphone inputs on mixers, audio interfaces and stage boxes. It is aimed at vocal work and pairs well with live sound setups that need a handheld dynamic mic. The box includes a pouch and a microphone clamp, which makes it easier to store and mount the microphone when not in use.
