Description
The RODE NT5 MP is a matched pair of small diaphragm condenser microphones for stereo recording, spot miking and acoustic instrument capture. It suits users who need two closely matched cardioid microphones for consistent left and right imaging. Each microphone has a 1/2-inch capsule and a compact body, making the pair practical for studio and live work where space and placement matter.
Each NT5 uses an externally polarised single diaphragm condenser transducer with a cardioid polar pattern and gold-sputtered 1/2-inch capsule. The pair covers 20 Hz to 20 kHz, has a sensitivity of -38 dB re 1 V/Pa, and an output impedance of 100 ohms. Maximum SPL is 143 dB, equivalent noise is under 16 dB SPL A-weighted, and the maximum output is +13.9 dBu.
The microphones use P48 or P24 phantom power and connect through a balanced 3-pin XLR output. In practice, they suit stereo pairs on acoustic guitar, piano, overheads and ensemble recording. The box includes 2 NT5 microphones, 2 RM5 microphone clips, 2 WS5 windshields and a microphone storage cylinder.
