Description
The RODE NT1 5th Generation is a large-diaphragm condenser microphone for recording vocals, instruments and spoken voice in studio or home setups. It suits people who want one microphone that can work with an audio interface or connect straight to a computer. The cardioid pickup pattern helps focus on the sound in front of the mic, which is useful for solo recording and spoken word.
It uses a 1.00-inch gold-sputtered capsule, a cardioid polar pattern and a side-address design. The microphone offers a 20Hz to 20kHz frequency range, 142 dB SPL handling and 4dBA equivalent noise, so it can handle louder sources while staying quiet. It supports XLR phantom power or USB-C power, with 24-bit or 32-bit floating point digital output and sample rates of 48kHz, 96kHz or 192kHz.
In practice, it can be used with an audio interface, mixer or compatible computer setup through XLR or USB-C. It works with Windows 10 and macOS 10.15 or later for digital use. The box includes the NT1 5th Gen microphone, an SM6 shock mount with pop filter, a 6m XLR cable and a 3m USB-C to USB-C cable.
