About the Viewfinders & Accessories range

Start with the viewing method you need. An electronic viewfinder may offer HDMI or SDI input, camera menu control, resolution support and a mounting option for a rig. An LCD loupe is suited to screens of a specified size and can reduce glare when shooting outdoors. For eyecups and eyecushions, check the shape, dimensions, material and eye relief. Ultrasuede cushions can improve comfort, while a light-blocking eyecup helps maintain visibility in bright surroundings. If you wear glasses, confirm the eyecup design and usable viewing area before ordering.

This range is organised into Eye Cushions, Viewfinder Accessories and Viewfinders. Compatibility is specific, so match the product listing to your camera, eyepiece or monitor model rather than choosing by appearance. Check whether an accessory fits a particular mounting rail, eyepiece shape or screen size. A 3.2-inch LCD loupe is not automatically suitable for every 3.2-inch display, and an eyecushion described as large oval or ARRI special may not fit a different eyecup. Confirm connectors, input standards and menu-control support for an EVF, and check the product page for dispatch time.

Viewfinders & Accessories questions

How do I know which camera eyecup or eyecushion will fit?

Check the exact camera and viewfinder model against the compatibility information on the product page. Eyecups use specific mounting shapes and rails, while eyecushions also vary by size and profile. If your model is not listed, measure the existing eyecup and compare its shape before ordering.

What is the difference between an LCD viewfinder and an electronic viewfinder?

An LCD viewfinder, such as a loupe, magnifies and shields the camera's built-in screen. An electronic viewfinder is a separate display that receives a camera signal through compatible inputs such as HDMI or SDI. Check screen size for a loupe, and input, resolution and mounting requirements for an EVF.

Are these viewfinders suitable for outdoor filming?

Some are designed to improve outdoor viewing by shielding the camera display from ambient light. Hoodman HoodLoupe models are specified for particular screen sizes, while an EVF may provide a dedicated display for rig-based shooting. Confirm the screen size, connector and mounting method before selecting an outdoor solution.
