Description
The Solid State Logic SSL CONNEX is a portable USB microphone for conferencing, web streaming and recording on the move. It suits users who want a compact mic for speech, vocals or instruments, whether on a desk, on a stand or mounted to a boom arm. The boundary style format makes it easy to place in small setups without extra hardware.
It uses a quad electret condenser array with four capsules and supports mono, stereo and tetrahedral capture. Four DSP user modes plus an immersive mode let you choose how the mic records, and immersive mode gives access to all four microphones. It also includes touch-sensitive mute and push-to-talk, plus headphone volume control on the unit.
In practice, it connects by USB-C and can be used with a computer, tablet or mobile device with a compatible USB connection. The mic includes a 2 m USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-C female to USB-A male adapter, along with a 1/4 to 5/8 thread adapter for mounting. A 3.5 mm headphone output is built in for direct monitoring.
