Description
The Rode V2 Blimp System is a windshield and shock mount for shotgun microphones. It suits location recordists and camera crews who need to cut wind noise and reduce handling noise on boom setups. It provides a practical way to keep speech capture cleaner outdoors or in other noisy environments where a standard mic mount is not enough.
It measures 285 x 490 x 125 mm and weighs 550 g. The system is designed to fit the NTG1, NTG2, NTG3, NTG4 and NTG4+, and it also suits any shotgun mic up to 32.4 cm long. The integrated Mogami mic cable helps keep the setup tidy, while the blimp body isolates the microphone from shock and vibration.
In use, the blimp mounts on a boompole and pairs with a shotgun microphone for dialogue or effects recording. It comes with a Rode V2 Blimp Handle, Dead Wombat Windshield, Tail/Patch Cable and Caring Brush. The included pieces cover the main setup, wind protection and basic maintenance, so the system is ready for field work once matched with a compatible shotgun mic.
