About the Softboxes range
A softbox enlarges the light source, and a larger source close to the subject gives softer shadows. Octaboxes give round catchlights for portraits; strip boxes give rim light; lanterns spread soft light around a room. Quick-release designs open in seconds. Check the mount on the modifier against the light.
Softboxes questions
What size softbox for one person?
60 to 90 cm placed within a metre of the subject. Larger boxes are softer but need more light output and space.
Will a Bowens softbox fit my Godox light?
If the light has a Bowens mount, yes. Godox, Aputure and amaran COB lights use it; small Godox flashes and some pocket lights use their own mounts.
What is a grid for?
A fabric grid narrows the spread of the softbox so light stays off the background. Many softboxes here include one; the listing says so.
