About the On Camera Lights range
Start with brightness and distance. A brighter light gives you more flexibility for subjects farther from the camera, while dimming helps avoid harsh highlights at close range. Bi-colour models let you match warm indoor lighting or cooler daylight, commonly across ranges such as 3200K to 6500K. RGB models add hue and saturation control for coloured effects. Check CRI or TLCI ratings when accurate skin tones and product colours matter. Also compare battery capacity, charging method, runtime, controls, included diffuser and whether the light supports continuous power.
Check how the light attaches before ordering. A camera hot shoe, cold shoe, 1/4-inch thread, magnetic mount and cage attachment are different fitting options, and an accessory shoe may not provide electrical power. Confirm the light's dimensions and weight if it will sit on a small camera or gimbal. This range includes pocket-sized lights, larger LED panels and models with multiple mounting points. Review the product page for the exact mount, battery, charger, colour range and dispatch time. Prices include GST, and shipping is free to Australian addresses.
On Camera Lights questions
What is the difference between an on camera light and a flash?
An on camera LED light provides continuous illumination, so you can see the effect while recording video or composing a photograph. A flash produces a short burst of light and is designed mainly for still photography. Choose an LED light for video, vlogging, interviews and ongoing fill lighting.
Will an on camera LED light fit my camera?
Many compact lights attach through a standard cold shoe or an included shoe adapter, but fittings vary. Check whether your camera, cage or bracket has a free accessory shoe or 1/4-inch thread. A cold shoe holds the light mechanically, while it does not normally transfer power or control signals.
Is RGB or bi-colour better for video?
Bi-colour is practical when you need to match warm household bulbs or cooler daylight. RGB is useful for coloured backgrounds, accents and creative effects, but it may not be the simplest choice for natural fill light. For accurate faces and products, also compare the light's CRI or TLCI rating.
