About Decimator
The MD-LX converts between HDMI and 3G-SDI in either direction, with four routing modes and USB for power, control and firmware updates. The MD-HX takes HDMI or SDI in and feeds four SDI outputs, so it can also act as a one-to-four distribution amplifier, with a 2K scaler and LCD controls in a fanless aluminium case. The 12G-CROSS steps up to 4K, with HDMI and 12G-SDI inputs, four SDI outputs plus HDMI, a 4K scaler and a test pattern generator.
Start with the highest resolution and frame rate you need. For HD work where you only need to convert one way or the other, the MD-LX covers it. If sources and destinations run different formats, or you need to feed several SDI devices, the MD-HX's scaler and extra outputs help. For 4K over single-link 12G-SDI, choose the 12G-CROSS. Check that cameras, switchers and monitors support the SDI standard in use, since a single 3G-SDI link cannot carry 4K. Decimator publishes a 36 month warranty from purchase.

For 4K over a single SDI cable, yes. 12G-SDI carries 4K on one link, while a single 3G-SDI link tops out at HD formats up to 1080p. The 12G-CROSS converts 4K HDMI and 12G-SDI and can scale for HD equipment where needed.
