Description

The Tentacle Sync E mk2 is a compact timecode generator for video and audio production work where matching recordings across devices matters. It suits camera operators, sound recordists and small production setups that need reliable timecode without adding much bulk. The unit generates LTC timecode and can also jam-sync to an external timecode source, with Bluetooth control for setup and monitoring.

It supports SMPTE timecode rates including 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 29.97DF and 30. The high precision TCXO is rated at less than 1 frame drift in 24 hours across -30°C to +85°C. Timecode output uses a mini jack socket, and the built-in reference microphone is available for audio use. Power comes from the built-in lithium polymer battery, with up to 35 hours operating time and fast USB-C charging in up to 1.5 hours.

In practice, it is mounted on a camera, recorder or other device using the integrated hook surface and the included Velcro loop pads or clamps for cable security. It pairs with devices that take TRS timecode input and can be managed through the Tentacle Setup App on iOS, Android, macOS or Windows. The box includes the timecode generator, mini jack cable, USB-C cable, two clamps, 10 Velcro loop pads, four coloured rubber bands, a quickstart guide and software activation details.
