Description
The Audio Technica ATH-M20X is a closed-back over-ear headphone set suited to monitoring, home recording and everyday listening where some outside noise reduction is useful. It is aimed at users who want a wired headphone with a straightforward fit and a sound that leans towards low-frequency detail.
It uses 40 mm neodymium drivers with a copper-clad aluminium wire voice coil, with a frequency response of 15 Hz to 20 kHz, 96 dB sensitivity and 47 ohm impedance. Maximum input power is 700 mW at 1 kHz. The attached cable is 3 m long and exits from one side, and the headphones weigh 190 g without the cable.
In use, the ATH-M20X connects by cable to audio interfaces, mixers, computer sound cards and other devices with a suitable headphone output. The box includes a 1/4-inch snap-on adapter for gear that uses a larger connector. The model is black and has no compatibility limits listed beyond the wired connection.
