About the Drone FPV & Optics range

Start with the video system and the way you plan to fly. Goggles determine the viewing experience and supported transmission system, while an FPV remote controller provides conventional stick control and a motion controller uses wrist movement. For a custom build, check the air unit's camera resolution and frame rate, transmission latency, operating bands, antenna arrangement, power requirements, dimensions and flight controller support. Mounting space, cooling and cable routing also matter. Compare the complete kit contents carefully, because an air unit, camera module, antenna and controller may be sold separately.

Compatibility is the main trap with FPV equipment. DJI O4 Air Unit Pro works with DJI Goggles 3 or DJI N3 Goggles and DJI FPV Remote Controller 3, while older goggles and controllers use different combinations. Third-party flight goggles are not supported for the O4 Air Unit series. The flight controller must support Betaflight 4.3.0 or later, and FPV remote control requires suitable SBUS support. O4 and O3 accessories are only partly interchangeable, so check each camera, coaxial cable, antenna and transmission module before ordering. Keep antennas clear of carbon fibre and metal when installing.

Drone FPV & Optics questions

Which goggles work with the DJI O4 Air Unit Pro?

The DJI O4 Air Unit Pro supports DJI Goggles 3 and DJI N3 Goggles with DJI FPV Remote Controller 3. It also supports DJI Goggles 2 or DJI Goggles Integra with DJI FPV Remote Controller 2. Third-party flight goggles are not supported for the O4 Air Unit series.

Can I use the DJI O4 Air Unit Pro with an existing FPV drone?

You can use it in a custom FPV build if the frame has suitable room, the power system meets the unit's requirements and the flight controller supports Betaflight 4.3.0 or later. Check the camera mounting, cable connections, antenna position and SBUS support before buying.

What is the difference between DJI FPV Remote Controller 3 and DJI RC Motion 3?

The DJI FPV Remote Controller 3 uses conventional control sticks for more direct manual flight control. DJI RC Motion 3 uses motion-based control for compatible DJI drones and goggles. Check the compatibility list for your aircraft and goggles, as the two controllers are not interchangeable across every setup.
