About the Instant Film range
Start with compatibility, then compare colour, film type and exposure count. Polaroid Color 600 film contains a battery in the cartridge, so it can power compatible vintage cameras. i-Type film has no battery and suits newer cameras with a built-in rechargeable battery. SX-70 film has lower sensitivity than 600 film and needs more light. Pack formats vary, including single packs, double packs and multi-packs, so compare the total number of exposures rather than the pack name alone.
The main trap is choosing film by appearance or camera shape. 600, i-Type and SX-70 cartridges are not interchangeable for normal use. i-Type film will not power older 600 cameras. SX-70 cameras generally require SX-70 film, while 600 film may need a suitable filter or camera modification. This range is organised by film type and camera compatibility, with Polaroid colour options in different exposure quantities. Confirm the camera model and cartridge type before buying.
Instant Film questions
Can I use Polaroid i-Type film in a 600 camera?
No. i-Type film does not contain the battery required by vintage 600 cameras. It is designed for newer compatible cameras with a built-in rechargeable battery. Use Polaroid Color 600 film for cameras that draw power from the film cartridge.
What film do I need for a Polaroid SX-70 camera?
Use Polaroid Color SX-70 Instant Film for a standard SX-70 camera. SX-70 film has lower sensitivity than 600 film, so it needs more light for suitable exposure. Do not assume that 600 or i-Type film is a direct replacement.
How many photos are in a Polaroid instant film pack?
The exposure count depends on the pack selected. This range includes packs with different quantities, including 8-exposure packs and multi-packs with more total exposures. Check the product title and specifications before ordering, especially when comparing single, double and five-pack options.
