Magnetic mounts allow faster setup changes, but need a suitable magnetic base and should be checked before use in motion. Compare the camera interface, such as GoPro-style fingers, a 1/4-inch thread, a magnetic adapter or a quick-release connection. Check whether the mount provides a ball joint for angle adjustment, and consider the total weight of the camera, case and attached accessories.
Compatibility is the main trap in this category. A mount designed for HERO13 Black may not attach directly to another camera without the correct adapter, while mounts for DJI Osmo Pocket 3 or 4 may use a different connection from action cameras. Check the exact camera model and included adapter before ordering. Flat and curved adhesive mounts are organised by surface shape, while magnetic products are organised by camera interface and intended accessory system. Do adhesive action camera mounts come off?
