About the DMX Devices range
Start with the connection type and control method. Check whether you need a DMX transmitter, receiver, transceiver, controller or adapter. Confirm the connector, such as 5-pin DMX or USB-C, and whether the device provides DMX input, output or both. For wireless systems, check the supported protocol and whether you need one unit or a matched transmitter and receiver. Also consider power requirements, antenna connections and the number of DMX universes your system needs.
Compatibility is the main buying check. DMX512 describes the control signal, but wireless devices may use different systems and may not pair across brands or protocols. Confirm the device is compatible with your light, console, app or wireless network before ordering. A 5-pin connector is not automatically interchangeable with every 3-pin setup, so check the fixture manual and use the correct cable or adapter. The range here is organised around DMX control devices and accessories, including Aputure and SWIT options.
DMX Devices questions
What is a DMX device used for?
A DMX device sends, receives or manages control data for compatible lighting equipment. Depending on the model, it can connect a light to a console, create a wireless DMX link, provide portable control or adapt a USB-C connection to DMX input and output.
Can I use any wireless DMX transmitter with any DMX light?
No. The light must support DMX through the required connector, and the transmitter and receiver must use compatible wireless protocols. Check the specifications for the light, controller and wireless units before buying. Some systems also require a paired or matching device at the other end.
Is 5-pin DMX different from 3-pin DMX?
Both can carry the DMX control signal, but the connector format and wiring must match the equipment. Do not assume a 5-pin device will connect directly to a 3-pin fixture. Check the pinout, cable type and product instructions, then use a suitable adapter where required.
