About Seetec
Both versions use a 17.3 inch IPS panel at 1920 x 1080 with 300 cd/m² brightness and a 700:1 contrast ratio. The screen folds into a metal drawer that takes up one rack unit, so it slides away when not in use. Inputs include HDMI, DVI, VGA, YPbPr, composite video and RCA audio, with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The SDI version adds an SDI BNC input and an SDI loop-through output. Monitoring tools include focus peaking, image zoom, freeze frame, centre and safety markers, check field and pixel-to-pixel mode.
Pick the SDI version if your cameras, switcher or router pass signals over BNC, since it can receive SDI and loop it out to the next device in the chain. If your workflow is HDMI or computer based, the standard version covers HDMI, DVI and VGA sources. Power comes through a DC input that accepts 7 to 24 volts, with draw of 10 watts or less. Check your rack before ordering: the listed dimensions are 485 by 462 by 43.5 mm, so allow for the drawer depth and room behind it for cables.
Seetec questions
What is the difference between the two Seetec SC173 versions?
Both share the same 17.3 inch Full HD IPS panel and 1RU pull-out drawer. The SDI version, sold as SC173-HSD-56, adds an SDI BNC input and SDI loop-through output supporting formats up to 1080p60. The standard version connects by HDMI, DVI, VGA, YPbPr and composite.
How is the Seetec SC173 rack monitor powered?
It runs from a DC input that accepts 7 to 24 volts, with power consumption of 10 watts or less. That wide input range gives flexibility in a rack or flight case. Check the product page for what is supplied in the box.
What monitoring tools does the Seetec SC173 include?
It includes focus peaking, image zoom, freeze frame, centre and safety markers, colour temperature adjustment, check field modes, image flip and pixel-to-pixel display. These help with focus checks, framing and colour checks during live production.
