The Saldo Backdrop Stand Kit is built around two Phottix Saldo 280 air cushioned light stands and a crossbar. Assembled, it stands 2.8 metres high with a 3.2 metre crossbar, and the stands have a two-tone chrome and black finish. The kit weighs about 6.05 kg and breaks down to fit its travel bag, so it suits location portraits as well as a home studio. The Stay-Put Sandbag II comes in three sizes holding 3 kg, 6 kg or 10 kg. We carry the small 3 kg version, which ships empty so you fill it with your own sand.

Start with the width of your background. The Saldo crossbar spans 3.2 metres, which leaves room for wide paper rolls and fabric backdrops, and the 2.8 metre height covers full-length standing portraits for most subjects. Check the width of your roll against the crossbar before ordering. Outdoors, or anywhere people will walk past the set, put a sandbag on each stand base, since a backdrop catches wind like a sail. The small Stay-Put holds 3 kg, which suits light stands and backdrop uprights; for tall stands carrying heavier modifiers, use two bags per stand. Each product page shows its dispatch time.
