About Libec
Both remotes share the same compact body, about 80 by 55 mm and 0.12 kg, with a 0.7 m cable ending in a 2.5 mm jack. A clamp fits round pipes up to 45 mm in diameter, so either unit can sit on a tripod pan bar, monopod grip, jib or stabiliser handle. Zoom speed changes with how far you tilt the double-sided rocker, which can be worked with a finger rather than only a thumb. Each has a REC start and stop button and an invert switch that flips the zoom direction when the control is mounted face down.
Choose the ZFC-L if you need focus as well as zoom. It works with LANC-equipped Sony, Canon and JVC camcorders, and at launch Libec named cameras such as the Sony FS5 and FS7 and Canon Cinema EOS models. The ZC-LP drops focus but adds Panasonic support alongside LANC, which suits Panasonic camcorders and mirrorless bodies such as the GH5 with a power zoom lens. Libec publishes a list of tested cameras for each model, so check your camera against it before ordering. Both plug into the camera's remote terminal, so no receiver or extra box is involved.
Libec questions
What is the difference between the Libec ZFC-L and ZC-LP?
The ZFC-L controls zoom, focus and recording on LANC cameras from Sony, Canon and JVC. The ZC-LP controls zoom and recording only, but works with Panasonic remote ports as well as LANC. Both share the same body, clamp and 0.7 m cable.
Will a Libec zoom control fit my tripod handle?
The clamp on both the ZFC-L and ZC-LP fits round pipes up to 45 mm in diameter. That covers most tripod pan bars and the grip of Libec's own TH-M monopod, and also suits many jib and stabiliser handles.
Can I reverse the zoom direction on a Libec remote?
Yes. Both models have an invert switch that changes the zoom direction, which is useful when the control is clamped face down on a handle. Zoom speed is set by how far you tilt the rocker, so light pressure gives a slow zoom.
