About Australian Monitor

The QFC6CS pairs a 6 inch driver with a coaxially mounted 25mm tweeter, and Australian Monitor lists a frequency response of 70Hz to 20kHz and maximum output of 105dB SPL. It runs on 100 volt line systems with taps at 2.5, 5, 10 and 20 watts, so you can set each speaker's level to suit the space. A supervisory capacitor is fitted as standard, which allows line monitoring in systems that check speaker circuits. The frameless steel grille is white, with an optional black grille.

Choose tap settings by room: lower taps for corridors and small offices, higher taps for open areas with more background noise. Add up the taps across each amplifier zone and keep the total within the amplifier's rated output with some margin. Check the ceiling cut-out size and void depth on the product page and on site before ordering. If the system forms part of an emergency warning installation, confirm the full system design and compliance with your installer. Australian Monitor publishes a 5 year warranty for the QFC6CS.

Australian Monitor questions

What does the supervisory capacitor on the QFC6CS do?

It allows amplifiers and systems that monitor speaker lines to check that the circuit is intact, without affecting the audio. This is useful in installations where faults on a speaker line need to be detected. The capacitor is fitted as standard on the QFC6CS.

Can I get the QFC6CS in black?

The standard grille is frameless white steel. Australian Monitor offers an optional black grille, listed as QFC6GRILLB, for dark ceilings and fit-outs where a white grille would stand out. Check availability of the black grille before planning a fit-out around it.

Who owns Australian Monitor?

Australian Monitor started in 1973 as Audio Telex Communications. Hills Industries acquired it in 2005, and Amber Technology acquired the brand in December 2019. It focuses on installation mixers, amplifiers and speakers for commercial audio.
