About Audac

Audac lists the CENA5 with a 5 inch driver, 10 watts of continuous power handling and a frequency response of 80Hz to 18kHz. It can run from low impedance amplifier outputs at 8 or 16 ohms, or on a 100 volt line system using its 6 watt or 3 watt taps. SpringFit mounting holds the speaker in the ceiling with spring clamps, and SnapConnect terminals speed up wiring. The CENA series also includes 2.5, 6.5 and 8 inch models for different room sizes and ceiling heights.

Decide first between low impedance and 100 volt wiring. Low impedance suits a few speakers close to the amplifier, while 100 volt line systems run many speakers over long cable runs from one amplifier, with each speaker's tap setting its share of power. Add the tap settings of every speaker on a line and keep the total under the amplifier's rating. Space ceiling speakers evenly for consistent coverage, and check ceiling material and void depth before cutting holes. Audac publishes a 5 year warranty for the CENA5.

Audac questions

Can the Audac CENA5 run on a 100 volt system?

Yes. Audac lists 100 volt line taps at 6 watts and 3 watts, as well as low impedance operation at 8 or 16 ohms. Choose the tap on each speaker to set its level, and keep the combined tap total within your amplifier's output.

What size is the Audac CENA5?

Audac specifies the CENA5 with a 5 inch driver. The CENA series also includes the CENA3, CENA7 and CENA8 with 2.5, 6.5 and 8 inch drivers. Check the model and cut-out size on the product page against your ceiling before ordering.

Is the CENA5 suitable for music or just announcements?

It is designed for background music and speech in commercial spaces. With a response of 80Hz to 18kHz it handles voice and background music clearly, but for full-range music with deep bass, add a subwoofer or choose a larger model.
