Description

The Yamaha HS7 is a powered studio monitor for recording, mixing and playback in small to medium studio setups. It suits users who want a single nearfield speaker for checking balance, detail and low end while working at a desk or in a project room. Its bi-amped design and bass-reflex cabinet are aimed at accurate monitoring rather than adding colour.

The HS7 uses a 165 mm cone woofer and 25 mm dome tweeter, with 95W total output made up of 60W for low frequencies and 35W for high frequencies. It has a frequency response of 43 Hz to 30 kHz and a 2 kHz crossover point. Connection options include one balanced XLR input and one balanced 1/4-20 TRS input, plus level, high trim and room control switches.

In practice, it connects straight to a mixer, audio interface or monitor controller with balanced outputs. It can be used as a left, right or single reference monitor depending on the setup. The cabinet is MDF and measures 210 x 332 x 284 mm, weighing 8.2 kg. No box contents are specified, so only the monitor can be described here.
