Description
The Sony FX3A is a full-frame cinema camera for creators who want a compact body for video work, with stills capture available as well. It suits solo operators, small crews, and anyone building a lightweight Sony E-mount setup with autofocus support. The body is designed to work without a cage, and the included XLR handle adds direct audio input options.
It uses a 35.6 x 23.8 mm full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor with 12.1 megapixels total and about 10.3 megapixels effective for movies. Video support includes UHD 4K up to 120 fps and 1080p up to 240 fps, plus 10-bit 4:2:2 XAVC S-I and 16-bit RAW output. It also offers 5-axis sensor-shift stabilisation, S-Cinetone, S-Log3, HLG, and an advertised 15 stops of dynamic range.
In use, it pairs with Sony E-mount lenses and supports autofocus through lens communication. It includes the FX3A camera body, NP-FZ100 battery, BC-ZD1 dual-battery charger, XLR-H1 handle unit, body cap, M1 accessory shoe cap, handle shoe cap, and accessory cold shoe kit. The camera has stereo built-in audio and 4-channel 24-bit LPCM recording, which suits interview, documentary, and run-and-gun setups.
