About the Monopods range
Choose a monopod by checking maximum height, folded length, section count and weight. Confirm the load capacity supports your complete camera, lens, head and accessories, not just the camera body. Aluminium models can provide a sturdy feel and practical value. Carbon fibre models are often lighter for carrying and may help damp vibration. For stills, a simple tilt or fixed mounting platform may be enough. For video, look for a fluid head, pan control and a stable foot or base.
Check whether the monopod includes a head, quick-release plate, feet or a locking base, as these features affect how quickly you can work. A video monopod with a fluid head is not the same as a basic photography monopod. Match the mounting thread and plate to your camera or existing head, commonly 1/4-inch or 3/8-inch connections. Do not confuse maximum height with usable eye-level height, and remember that a three-leg base improves standing support but does not turn a monopod into a full tripod. Product pages show each model's specifications and dispatch time.
Monopods questions
Can I use a monopod for both photography and video?
Yes, but the suitable design depends on your setup. A basic monopod suits still photography, while video work benefits from a fluid head, pan control and a stable base or feet. Check the payload rating and included mounting hardware before attaching a camera, lens and accessories.
What is the difference between an aluminium and carbon fibre monopod?
Aluminium monopods are generally practical and sturdy, but can weigh more than comparable carbon fibre models. Carbon fibre is often chosen when carrying weight matters, and it can help damp vibration. Compare the stated weight, maximum height, folded length and payload rather than choosing by material alone.
Do monopods have a standard camera screw?
Many camera monopods use a 1/4-inch mounting thread, while some heads and video accessories use 3/8-inch connections or supplied adapters. Check the monopod and camera plate specifications together. A quick-release plate may improve setup speed, but it must be compatible with your camera or existing head.
