About Visible Dust
VisibleDust makes tools for both dry and wet sensor cleaning. The Arctic Butterfly SL 707 is a compact, pocket format brush for smaller DSLR and mirrorless bodies. A small DC motor spins its nano coated fibres to throw off dust before each pass, so no canned air is needed, and it runs on one AAA battery. For stuck spots, the green MXD Vswabs use a V shape and multi fabric head to reach corners, and VisibleDust says its swabs and liquids are calibrated to work together. VDust Plus targets water stains, most oil stains and stains of unknown origin.
Start with the Arctic Butterfly to lift loose dust without touching the sensor with liquid. VisibleDust notes it is safe on sensors coated with Indium Tin Oxide and on DSLRs with built in sensor cleaning, but warns against spinning the brush on the sensor or inside the chamber. Move to the wet kit when marks remain. Swab width must match the sensor: the 1.0x swabs in our kit are 24 mm wide for full frame, while VisibleDust makes 1.3x swabs for Micro Four Thirds and Nikon DX and 1.6x for APS-C.

Which cameras suit the 1.0x MXD green swabs?
VisibleDust sizes its 1.0x swabs at 24 mm for full frame digital cameras. Owners of Micro Four Thirds, Nikon DX or APS-C bodies need narrower swabs, which VisibleDust makes in 1.3x and 1.6x sizes, so check your sensor format before ordering this kit.
Do I need canned air with the Arctic Butterfly SL 707?
No. VisibleDust designed the SL 707 to work without canned air. Its motor spins the fibres off the sensor to shed dust and charge them before you sweep. It takes one AAA battery, which is not included in the box.
What does VDust Plus liquid clean?
VisibleDust says VDust Plus removes water stains, most oil stains and stains of unknown origin, helps prevent streaking and leaves a moderate static barrier. It and Sensor Clean are both made to work with the green MXD Vswabs in our kit.
