About Soundcraft
The Ui12 is a 12-input digital mixer controlled remotely. You run it over its built-in Wi-Fi from a tablet, phone or computer on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS or Linux, with up to 10 devices at once. Inputs have 4-band parametric EQ, high-pass filter, compressor, de-esser and noise gate, outputs get 31-band graphic EQ, and three Lexicon processors supply reverb, delay and chorus. The EPM6 and EPM8 are analogue consoles with 6 or 8 mono mic channels plus 2 stereo channels, 48V phantom power, 3-band EQ with a swept mid and two aux sends.
Choose the Ui12 if you want to mix from anywhere in the room or let performers adjust their own monitor mixes from their phones. It has four combo mic/line inputs, four XLR mic inputs, two Hi-Z instrument inputs, a stereo RCA line input and two-channel USB playback and recording in MP3, WAV or AIFF. Choose an EPM if you prefer hands-on knobs and faders: the EPM6 handles 6 mono sources and the EPM8 handles 8, each with insert points and pre or post switchable aux sends for monitors or effects. EPM consoles can be rack mounted with optional hardware.
Soundcraft questions
How do I control the Soundcraft Ui12?
The Ui12 is controlled from a connected device over its built-in Wi-Fi. It works across iOS, Android, Windows, macOS and Linux, and up to 10 devices can control it at the same time, so you need at least one tablet, phone or computer.
What is the difference between the Soundcraft EPM6 and EPM8?
Channel count. The EPM6 has 6 mono mic/line channels and the EPM8 has 8, and both add 2 stereo channels. Otherwise they share the same design, with phantom power, 3-band EQ with a swept mid, insert points and two aux sends.
Can the Soundcraft Ui12 record a performance?
Yes, in stereo. The Ui12 offers two-channel USB playback and recording, with MP3, WAV and AIFF formats supported. For multitrack recording of individual channels you would need a different mixer or a separate audio interface.
