About Nashua
Nashua 357 is built from a polyethylene coated cloth backing with a natural rubber adhesive, about 330 microns thick. It tears by hand in a straight line, removes cleanly from most surfaces and has a waterproof cloth that resists abrasion and punctures. The published operating range is 4 to 93 degrees Celsius. Typical uses listed on the data sheet include securing cables, leads and carpet runs, labelling consoles, floors and microphones, and work on film, TV and theatre sets. It is made in the USA and rated low VOC.
Choose colour by job. Black suits stages and sets where tape should disappear under lights and on camera, white is easy to write on for labelling channels and marking positions, and silver works for general repairs and bundling. Apply the tape to clean, dry surfaces for a good bond, and remove it within a reasonable time on delicate finishes. Store rolls in their box away from direct sunlight so the adhesive stays fresh. Keep a roll in each kit for cable runs and quick fixes.
Nashua questions
Will Nashua 357 leave residue?
The data sheet states that Nashua 357 removes cleanly from most surfaces. Results depend on the surface, temperature and how long the tape stays down, so test on delicate paint, wallpaper or finished timber before a full job.
Can I tear Nashua 357 by hand?
Yes. The cloth backing is designed to be hand tearable and tears in a straight line, which is why crews use it for cable runs and floor marks without needing scissors or a cutter.
What sizes and colours are available?
We stock Nashua 357 in 48 mm wide rolls that are 40 m long, in black, silver and white. The published data lists the same three colours for this tape.
